Welcome to Simien Lodge. The lodge is located inside the Simien Mountains National Park, at the beginning of the escarpment, about 22km from Debarak (the frontier town of the national park). It is the highest lodge in Africa, sitting at 3,260 meters above sea level.
The rooms are constructed as traditional 'tukels' (circular thatched houses). Each tukel contains two rooms with private bathrooms, high-quality twin beds, and under-floor solar heating to keep rooms warm during the chilly mountain nights. Each room features fibreglass insulation in the ceiling, walls, and floor, alongside a sheltered private balcony looking over the dramatic mountain range.
